Red Bank Animal Hospital

I took my 5yo Aussie doodle, Filly, for her first dental cleaning under anesthesia yesterday. I am so thankful I chose RBAH for my girl. I want to share my experience because I couldn’t really find any recent reviews. Hoping this can ease some nerves of anyone with an upcoming procedure at RBAH! :) We arrived at 7am, where we were warmly greeted by Talynn. After weighing in, we were promptly taken to a room and I went over the billing estimate/what to expect with the Vet techs. I was encouraged to ask any questions and reassured Filly was going to get all the love. I asked the staff to text me after they did blood work just for my peace of mind - and Dr. Scott did just that! Katie, the surgery tech, also texted me once Filly was in recovery, giving me a brief rundown of their diagnostic findings. She later texted me when Filly was likely OK to pick up (~1:30PM). At pick up, Dr. Garwood (has been Filly’s vet for at least 3 years at different locations) was there to just let me know she had been checking in on Fil all day and that Fil got LOTS of love by everyone! Dr. Garwood also discussed part of Fil’s diagnostics with me. It was very comforting to know two doctors were looking after my baby. Dr. Scott came in next, and reviewed with me Fil’s XRs/next steps as Fil clears the anesthesia over the next couple of days. Out of caution, it was decided to send Filly’s XR to Taylor radiology just to confirm nothing nefarious was going on. The specialist read came back today and I was notified of the results by Dr. Scott (despite being quoted up to a 3-day turnaround time!) I am truly so thankful for Dr. Scott, Dr. Garwood, Katie, Talynn, and everyone else at RBAH for taking care of my Filly while I was a nervous Nelly. They really do care about doing what is best for your pet. (Included pictures of filly because she’s just a ray of sunshine)

I hate to even write this review because I have been taking my dogs to RBAH since 2021 and have genuinely valued the care we’ve received there over the years. My previous dog was a patient there until she passed away, and when I got my new puppy, I continued bringing her to RBAH for all of her care throughout her first year of life. Unfortunately, things seem to have changed, and I’ve made the difficult decision to switch veterinary practices. On multiple occasions when my puppy has been sick and needed to be seen that day, RBAH has been unable to get her in. Most recently, I called because she was vomiting, having diarrhea, and refusing water. I was told there were no appointments available and that I would need to find somewhere else to take her even though she was an established patient. I completely understand that veterinary offices get busy and that same-day appointments cannot always be guaranteed. However, after being an established client for nearly five years, it is frustrating and disappointing to repeatedly be unable to have a sick dog seen when something unexpected happens. Unfortunately, this was not the first time we’ve encountered this issue, and I no longer feel comfortable relying on a practice where I may have to find a different veterinarian whenever my dog becomes acutely ill. I’m genuinely sad to leave because RBAH cared for my previous dog for years, and I had hoped to continue that relationship with my new puppy. I’m grateful for the care we have received there, but ultimately I need a veterinary practice that has a better system in place for established patients who become sick and need more immediate care.

The staff is understanding, professional and friendly. I would recommend this facility for all your pets needs.

I just wanted to thank the staff at Red Bank Animal Hospital, particularly Keisha and Dr. Garwood. The care and kindness they exhibited today was 5 star! We showed up at 7am (without an appointment) in need of lots of help. The staff never made us feel unwelcome or burdensome and everyone handled the entire process with the utmost professionalism. They diagnosed Smoke quickly, and communicated with me throughout the day while Smoke remained in their care as I worked. They then emailed me an itemized bill (at my request) including reasonable, easy applicable financing options. I was able to get Smoke the care he needed and his medications without breaking the bank. I also was able to attend my own doctors appointment and work while Smoke awaited my return; concluding with both of us feeling much better! I attribute it all to the staff at the Red Bank Animal Hospital. Without all of you, I could have never gotten it all done. Thank you, ladies. We will see you in two weeks!!
