I have been with Banfield for over a year now and every time we have any kind of issues with our dog they are right there to help at all times! Very glad that we have our dog on a plan there and we really won’t the gunbarrel location to be recognized for their awesomeness!

11/10 for Dr. Broadway! My Goldendoodle can be really scared at the vet which can make her hard to treat. So it’s an understatement to say that we were surprised when Dr. Broadway was able to bring Sadie out of her shell. She immediately noticed Sadie was scared of her coat and stethoscope, so she took them off. This got Sadie’s instant approval. I loved her warm and friendly approach. Excellent bedside manner. She has been Sadie’s favorite vet this far and made it a great experience for her. Thanks Dr. Broadway!

Dr. Vasicek tried to diagnose our dog with cancer after a very quick appointment back in November 2025. Our dog had been licking her rear a lot, and after a 3-second rectal exam, Dr. Vasicek told us she felt a lump above her anal gland and that she very likely had cancer and we would have to go spend $5,000 to have the lump removed and then chemo. Obviously this was very difficult to hear, but the doctor was in and out of the room in about two minutes, before I could really process what was happening. Luckily, the vet tech could tell I was struggling to understand and stayed behind to answer my questions and show a little empathy. About $2,000 and six months later, after seeing multiple specialists and going through multiple biopsies, test, diet changes, medicine, etc., no other vet agreed it was cancer but it turned out to be perianal fistulas. There were no real signs pointing to cancer. And there wasn't a specific "lump" but was described as a "swelling" by the specialist. I understand doctors make mistakes, but her confidence and pushiness in delivering that "diagnosis" right off the bat and after follow up visits, without any real evidence caused us a lot of unnecessary sadness, anxiety, and financial hardship. We later found out she had only seen one other case of perianal fistulas in her career, which explains the lack of familiarity with the condition. I don't blame her for not knowing, but if you're going to confidently diagnose a dog with cancer before ruling out other possibilities, you should at least have the bedside manner to deliver that news with some respect and empathy. Its upsetting that we had to deal with all of this to find out it was something that is not uncommon to our breed of dog (GSD) and she simply could have said it needs more examination from a specialist to determine what it is, rather than jumping right to the worst case scenario and acting like it was a death sentence for our dog.

Sydney Mckee 8 reviews 2 minutes ago New I am thinking about canceling my membership. I legit can NEVER get anyone to answer the phone.. both locations. There is always a line you have to wait in forever as well. I always call in my dogs refill beforehand and I’m always hit with “ We didn’t know you called it in” every single time.My dog has been going here for years and I have put up with it for so long. I am seriously thinking of switching to a different vet.

Banfield on Gunbarrel is absolutely wonderful place to take your pets.
